Parish Youth Council

Umbrella organization of all Youth in Uganda between the ages of 18-30 years.

A parish or ward youth council shall consist of all the members of the village youth committees in the parish or ward

The Role of the Parish Youth Council

  1. The role of the Parish Youth Council and Committee is to mobilize the youth in the Parish to participate and benefit from Developmental programme in the Parish
  2. They are also mandated to initiate plans and actions for the youth at the Parish. Such programmes include; - Sports and recreation; Development Projects; Entrepreneurship programmes; Mobilizing the youth to take part in community work; Promoting Peace and stability in the Parish; Engage in Group / Individual farming; carry out mobilization in HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health; Participate in all government programmes; promoting tolerance and coexistence; Engage youth in activities that are of benefit to them and the nation etc.
